Why we redesigned

Lumonic was originally built around a simple world - companies, borrowers, reporters. Since then, the platform has grown to cover funds, securities, tranches, deal rooms, and more. But the interface hadn't kept up. Navigation that once made sense became cluttered. Customers told us this consistently - in demos, feedback calls, the polite way people tell you something isn't working when they still believe in what you're building.

We listened. And rather than patch what we had, we rebuilt it from the foundation.

What changed

Navigation rebuilt from scratch. The entire app is now organized around how you actually work - not how we happened to build it. Global search with Cmd+K gets you anywhere instantly.

A faster app, everywhere. Initial page load is 18x faster. The compliance tracker loads 6x faster. We've gone through every surface and cut the weight.

The Excel Add-In, reimagined. What used to be a formula tool is now a full Lumonic client inside Excel. Log in the same way you log into the app. Build formulas visually. Import data without leaving your spreadsheet. Write values back with a single function. Even trace data back to source documents - all without switching windows.

Smarter data extraction. Document processing is faster, handles larger files, and preserves original formatting. We've unified the review experience so periodic and static fields live in one place with one publish button.

Reports that flex. Edit individual report runs without losing upstream template updates. Your changes are tracked as adjustments, not copies - so when templates improve, those improvements still flow through to you.

A complete file ingestion pipeline. For high-volume clients, we've built automated file ingestion from S3 - with entity resolution, a quarantine system for anything that doesn't map cleanly, and full admin visibility into what's coming in.

There's more - dashboard controls, cashflow exports, entity relationship graphs, a redesigned borrower portal, external signing for counterparties - but you get the idea.

This redesign isn't just cosmetic. Every surface is now faster and will continue to get better.
