Introducing self-building dashboards in Lumonic

It's rare to meet a firm that runs dashboards and mission-critical reporting out of their portfolio monitoring tool. Learning a new interface to create dashboards is high friction, and most teams revert to Excel or push the data into Snowflake with Power BI layered on top. MCPs have raised the bar even higher, since anyone can build charts with their LLM of choice in their own chat or an HTML file.

Now building a dashboard in Lumonic is as easy as pasting in a screenshot or uploading a spreadsheet. Then sit back and watch it build itself in front of you.

Dashboards built to roll forward

Lu rebuilds your Excel file or screenshot with grids, tables, charts, or cards - all with dynamic formulas, including the complicated cases like LTM figures rolled up from quarterly numbers, comparisons to prior periods, revenue by channel, and pro forma breakouts. Dashboards in Lumonic only need to be built once and next quarter the roll forward happens automatically.

Audit your dashboard

Once it's built, Lu flags any number that doesn't match your original report. Ask why the number is different, and it'll suggest a fix or tell you where the underlying value needs to change - it will never hardcode a number.

This works on dashboards you already have, too. Share the original report, and let's see which numbers don't tie up.

Make one change across the portfolio

Ask for a change across several dashboards, like adding budget next to actuals, and Lu makes it on each one. You review the changes and pick what to save. Build on a template and every company gets the same dashboard with its own numbers. You can still click into any widget and edit it by hand.

Reports our customers are already building

  • A quarterly portfolio review, down to each borrower's credit metrics against underwriting and at close

  • A portfolio summary table that matches the PDF version row for row

  • A monthly one-pager on each company for the partners, with six charts and a table of the last 12 months

  • Public comps for each portfolio company, with the change from last quarter

Available now

Self-building dashboards are available to every Lumonic customer today. Create a new dashboard, give your instructions and paste in examples, then watch it build. Paste in a screenshot of last quarter's review and watch it build.
