Introducing the PitchBook & Lumonic MCPs

Kevin Hsu
Last week we made the Lumonic MCP generally available. We made a promise on sharing more workflows that run the Lumonic and PitchBook MCPs side by side. Today we're releasing them, along with new MCP Library artifacts that only run when both connectors are on.
Lumonic is the system of record for what you own: securities, covenants, and the financials your companies report every month. PitchBook is the record of what the market knows: deals, valuations, investors, news. The two systems have always been separate, and the hardest questions about your portfolio need both. What does the new round do to our mark? Is the sponsor still writing checks? Answering them has meant one analyst with both platforms open and a side spreadsheet holding it together.
How it works
Connect both MCPs to the same chat. There's no integration between the two systems and no pipeline to build: the model reads from each server and puts the answer together in front of you.
Your portfolio is the screen
Every one of these workflows starts from the names you already hold. Ask Lumonic for the portfolio, then ask PitchBook what the market knows about each one. Put PitchBook intelligence to work on the fifty names you actually own.
What you can do with it
For private equity firms, ask for add-on targets the platform can fund: PitchBook surfaces the names in its space with ownership and deal history, and Lumonic screens them against real debt capacity.
For private credit funds, ask who you co-lend with across the portfolio: PitchBook knows the sponsor and co-lenders in every deal, Lumonic knows which of your names need attention and why. When a position slides toward workout, the lender group is already mapped.
For venture capital firms, ask who makes it to the next round. Lumonic has cash, burn, and months of runway. PitchBook shows rounds as they're announced and whether the investors behind each company are still doing deals. You'll know who needs a bridge before they ask for one.
One artifact per workflow
This week the MCP Library gets three new artifacts. Prompts are inside each file: download one, connect both servers, and point it at your own portfolio. Every number will tie out: Lumonic traces back to the source file, PitchBook to the source profile.
Get started
You need to be customers of both Lumonic and PitchBook. If your firm has each, setup is about 5 minutes: enable both connectors, open a conversation, and start from one of our library artifacts. If you're not on Lumonic and want to see this with your own portfolio, request a demo and we'll reach out.
What's next
More dual-MCP artifacts are on the way as we learn more about how customers are pairing Lumonic data with CRM's, loan management systems and more.
